Capability Statements are like a resume for your business. It’s a concise document that explains who your business is, what it does and why a client should choose your business. It’s mostly used when working with governments, large organisations and procurement teams who need a fast, structured overview of your business’s experience and capacity.
A capability statement often includes
- A Business overview, who you are, your vision and your values.
- Your business’s core capabilities, what your business does, what it’s good at, and what services and products you offer.
- Your business experience, including where your business has been and what your business has previously done for other clients. Things like past projects, clients, or case studies of what your company has accomplished.
- Something that sets your business apart. Describe what makes your business different from the rest of the businesses that want the same contract you’re applying for. Think about your cultural strengths, unique experiences, and certifications.
- A list of compliance and credentials, these include things like your ABN, insurance providers, licences and certifications such as ISO, WHS, etc.
- A showcase of your Indigenous Engagement, the benefits your business brings to the community, like training, jobs, or cultural integrity.
- Have your contact details clearly outlined to make it easy for people to reach you. This includes adding your phone number, email address, website, social media accounts, and business address.
The capability statement should be concise, easy to understand and appealing.
